Logo Design Award Winner
The Granville Township Open Space Committee held a contest to select a logo design that will be used on new signage to identify properties in Granville Township that are protected through the use of Open Space Levy funds. In addition, the logo will be featured on the Granville Township website.
Entries were accepted through March 15, 2011.
Students and professional designers alike were encouraged to submit designs for consideration.
The Granville Township Open Space Committee has announced the winner of its contest to select a logo design. Dan Tamkin, a Licking County native employed locally as an interactive media specialist, submitted the winning design. The green, black and white design depicts open fields and trees in the foreground, with a small town skyline, including a silhouette of Swasey Chapel, in the distance. For his efforts, Mr. Tamkin will receive a $100 prize, contributed by an anonymous donor.
In selecting Mr. Tamkin’s design, the Committee noted it “best captures the purpose of the Open Space program.”
The logo design will be used on new signage to identify properties in Granville Township that are protected through the use of Open Space Levy funds. Each sign will serve as a reference to coordinate with a published map and a website for further information about the properties, features and specific restrictions in an effort to keep the public informed about this unique community investment. The logo will also be featured on the Granville Township website.
To date, nearly twenty properties throughout Granville Township have been purchased outright or development rights have been secured with Open Space levy funding. Signs using the winning logo were placed at each of these properties, beginning in 2012. Signs will be placed to identify additional properties, as Open Space funds are utilized.

This design has also been slightly modified and used as the logo for Granville Township itself on their vehicles and elsewhere.
